Washington Bee Atlas Volunteers

What do you need today?

As the 2025 collecting season begins to slow, plans are underway for scheduling microscope training sessions this fall and winter. Check out the events page for microscope training sessions near you.
Thanks for your interest in becoming a Washington Bee Atlas volunteer! Volunteers are critical to the success of this project. As a volunteer, you'll learn how to identify and help collect and document native pollinators.

Please be aware that as part of this project and for research, volunteers will conduct lethal collection of specimens. If you are not willing to participate in lethal collection but still want to support native pollinators, a great group to join is the Washington Native Bee Society

For an introduction to native bees and a detailed overview of what volunteering entails for the Washington Bee Atlas, watch the video below or on YouTube.
