WSDA Nutrition Resources

WSDA partners with the Department of Health and others to create and promote various tools and resources for food banks and pantries. Use these resources to support clients understanding their health and nutrition needs.

TEFAP Factsheets

When serving communities through USDA's The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP), it is important to consider a participant's perspective on cultural and religious practices around food. Below are some factsheets provided by USDA.

Chef Quan's Kitchen Recipes

WSDA has collaborated with Quan Hoang, the Washington State Governor's Mansion Executive Chef to create recipes using Washington grown produce.Quan has been sharing his culinary gifts at the Mansion since 2009, but his appreciation and lifelong passion for cooking began 25 years ago working in his family’s restaurant, cooking Thai and Vietnamese cuisine. MyPantry Series

Available in English, Spanish, Russian, and Ukrainian, our MyPantry series was created in response to food pantry staff's request for tools to encourage healthier food choices.  Based on this feedback, we wanted to create tools to empower food pantry staff to have a casual conversation with clients about nutrition.
The MyPantry series is consistent with USDA's MyPlate messaging helping to make a connection between the food received at food banks and the nutritional food groups found on MyPlate.
