USDA Farm to School
USDA is supporting farm-to-school efforts through a number of initiatives and continues to look for ways to help facilitate this important connection. The USDA's Food and Nutrition Services website is a good place to go to stay informed of the legislative and regulatory changes that influence farm to school activities.
National Farm to School Network
The Farm to School Network connects schools (K-12) and local farms with the objectives of serving healthy meals in school cafeterias, improving student nutrition, providing agriculture, health and nutrition education opportunities, and supporting local and regional farmers. WSDA Farm to School's Chris Iberle is the Washington State Core Partner for the National Farm to School Network, along with four Supporting Partners.
Washington State Farm to School Network
The purpose of the Network is to grow farm to school (F2S) activity in Washington State. The Network will connect practitioners to learn from each other, create and share resources, set common goals, and amplify the impacts of farm to school for all communities in Washington. The network is committed to advancing racial and social equity by addressing disparities in access to the benefits of farm to school.
Oregon Farm to School and School Garden Network
The Oregon Farm to School and School Garden Network (OFSSGN) supports farm to school and school garden stakeholders in their work to incorporate healthy, local food into school meals and to implement farm- and garden-based education. We provide resources, technical assistance, training and networking opportunities to Oregon's farm to school and school garden community.
