Our Food Testing Laboratory tests prepackaged manufactured foods, ready-to-eat foods and environmental samples for Listeriosis (Listeria Monocytogenes), Salmonella,  E.coli (Escherichia coli) , Campylobacter, Staphylococcal Food Poisoning, pH and water activity.

Common products tested include ready-to-eat salads, sandwiches, fruit cups, cheese, deli salads, salsa, dips, ice cream and raw milk. Through our testing, we have identified pathogens in ready-to-eat foods and helped initiate several state and nationwide recalls.

The Food Testing Program has benefited from support through the Manufactured Food Regulatory Program Standards (MFRPS), ISO/IEC 17025:2005 accredited since 2011 and from the FDA Rapid Response Team (RRT) grant.
