General FAQ:
Q: Can grant funds be used to purchase produce to send home with students or children?
A: Grant funds may be used to purchase Washington-grown foods to be used in school, child care, and summer meals or snacks, including taste tests. Funds may not be used to purchase items to be sent home with students or children if these items are not part of a regular meal or snack program.
Tribal Programs FAQ:
Q: Can Tribal schools and Tribal early learning programs be reimbursed with grant funds for fish purchased from Tribal fisherman?
A: Yes, fish purchased from Tribal fishermen that meet all applicable health & food safety requirements under the Tribal or applicable jurisdiction for use in schools and early learning programs is eligible for reimbursement under this grant.
Child Care FAQ:
Q: We are a CACFP program operator and operate multiple child care sites. Do we submit separate applications for each site?
A: No, only one application is required. The application should be completed by the CACFP program operator to include all of the child care sites you operate. Only one purchasing plan is required.
Vendor FAQ:
Q: What documentation should I provide customers to ensure products are eligible for reimbursement?
A: Customers are required to include the farm name and location for all purchases to be eligible for reimbursement. Please provide documentation to customers that identifies eligible products as Washington-grown. This can done a few ways: include the name and location of the farm source on invoices and/or receipts; include the name and location of the farm source on product or case labels; provide a monthly report that lists purchases by date, farm name, and location.
