Chelan County Quarantine

The City of Leavenworth and its surrounding areas are under quarantine for apple maggot. Residents in these areas cannot take homegrown fruit or green waste from a quarantined area into the pest-free area. Green waste includes yard debris, leaves, tree trimmings, and garden waste.

 

 If you live in the quarantine area

  • DO NOT take homegrown fruit and green waste to the Dryden Transfer Station.
  • DO NOT put homegrown fruit and green waste in your curbside garbage container.
  • DO NOT take homegrown fruit and green waste out of the quarantined area.

Where to take green waste

  • Winton Manufacturing located at 17400 Winton Rd, Leavenworth, WA 98826
    • For more information about fees and hours of operation visit their website.
      • Call them at 509-763-0000
  • The City of Leavenworth Recycling Center located at 216 14th Street.
    • Only city residents may use this facility (proof of residence required).
    • Open Wednesday 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. and Saturday 11 – 3 a.m.
  • Green waste can also be composted at home.
