Produce Consumer Complaints

The WSDA Produce Safety Program oversees the safe growing, harvesting, packing and holding of fruits and vegetables. The program is dedicated to protecting the public from foodborne illnesses and outbreaks linked to fresh produce by responding to complaints in a timely manner.

When submitting a complaint, please provide complete and accurate information so that we can review or investigate your issue successfully. If you are reporting a injury and/or illness it is crucial that you include accurate contact information so that we may follow up with you immediately.

Helpful details include:
  • Contact information
  • Date, time and location of event
  • Produce condition and description
  • Farm source or other identifying information
  • Pictures that capture contamination or incident
You can submit a complaint by completing our Produce Consumer Complaint Form and emailing it to us at producesafety@agr.wa.gov. Fill out the first two sections of the form to the best of your ability.

If reporting illness related to produce, you should also contact your doctor or county health department.
