Enterprise Risk Management Program

The Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Program facilitates the process of planning, organizing, and controlling activities of the department to minimize the effects of risk on their capital and earnings. It is a rigorous approach to assessing and addressing risks from all sources that threaten the achievement of the department's strategic objectives and manages risks holistically and strategically.

Enterprise Risk Management is a process of applying a risk evaluation to each department goal, identifying root causes of these risks, determining - as an enterprise - what changes (i.e., risk treatments) are best to address the root causes, and then monitoring the success of the risk treatments.

Safety Program

The Safety Program directly supports the work of the department by keeping all employees working via safety enterprises from federal and state laws, as well as department best practices. They evaluate equipment and work processes to ensure risks are handled proactively, and actively help employees resolve reported areas of concern in the workplace. These critical functions create a productive and safe work environment, protects the department's most valuable resources (employees), and reduce associated business costs and disruptions.

Emergency Preparedness Program

The Emergency Preparedness Program allows for the continuous creation and execution of plans aimed at reducing all vulnerabilities towards employees and department assets. The program routinely copes with natural or individually made disasters, to include supporting a critically based position designation for supporting the continuity of operations (COOP) throughout the state's 39 counties. The program efficiently enables the department to provide accurate, consistent, and timely services by effectively managing emergency preparedness plans, operational sustainment, and employee training and awareness.

Aviation - Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) Program

The Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Program improves operations and capabilities for the department to meet their mission of service and regulation and continued support for the viability and vitality of agriculture while protecting consumers, public health, and the environment.

Health and Wellness Program

The department's Health and Wellness Program shapes conditions for a positive environment by improving employee health behaviors, reduce elevated health risks and health care costs, expand productivity, improve employee recruitment and retention, decrease absenteeism, and increase employee morale.

Ergonomics Program

The Ergonomics Program is an efficient process of identifying and eliminating factors that often create workplace musculoskeletal disorders (WMSDs). The programs' goal is to control certain workplace risk factors and provide all employees the most efficient and safest working environment.
