2019 — Washington Grain Commission

On November 15, 2018, Director Derek Sandison presented the Washington Grain Commission with the WSDA Director's Citation. The citation was in recognition of the WA Grain Commission's 60-year anniversary and its support of research, marketing and education to ensure farming's sustainability in our region.

2018 — Washington State 4-H Association

On Feb. 19, 2018, Director Derek Sandison presented the Director’s Citation Award to the Washington State 4-H Association as they visited Olympia and the Legislative Building. The citation was in recognition of the organization’s support for STEM, good citizenship, creative arts and healthy living projects, and for promoting agriculture and food production.

2017 — Washington Future Farmers of America (FFA) Association

On May 11, 2017, Director Derek Sandison presented the Director’s Citation Award to the Washington FFA at their annual convention in Pullman. Sandison recognized the organization for preparing young people to be the agricultural leaders of the future. Washington FFA has more than 10,000 members in chapters throughout the state.

2016 — Don Potts, Eastern Washington Region manager, WSDA Grain Inspection Program

On May 25, 2016, WSDA Director Derek Sandison presented the Director's Citation to Don Potts in a ceremony at WSDA's grain inspection office in Spokane. Don was recognized for his outreach to the grain industry and his work developing innovative solutions to provide grain inspections for a variety of customers and clients.
