What do you need today?

WPS Pesticide Handler Training

This training program is intended to train pesticide handlers above and beyond the Worker Protection Standard (WPS) training requirements for pesticide handlers in agricultural establishments. The training curriculum is approved by EPA. This training is meant for pesticide handlers so that they learn how to use pesticides in a safe, effective, and legal manner and is intended to reduce pesticide exposure incidents among farmworkers and their family members.

Course Information


PARTICIPANTS
The WPS Interactive Pesticide Handler Training has been specially designed for employees who mix, load, apply, and assist in the application of pesticides, as well as people who handle pesticide application equipment on agricultural establishments.

*On completion of the course, attendees will receive a WSDA card that verifies that they have received annual WPS pesticide safety training as pesticide handlers.

REGISTRATION AND FEES

Space is limited! Register early by contacting the sponsor. While WSDA does not charge fees, the sponsor may charge a registration fee to cover the use of facilities and food. Any fees are payable directly to the sponsor. All registration is done now through the sponsor.

Requirements:
25 Handlers +
Providing an environment conducive to training this is reasonably free of distractions.
*WSDA does not charge for Handler Trainings. 
 

PESTICIDE CREDITS 
WSDA licensed participants will be offered 6 pesticide credits.

WPS Pesticide Handler Training 
Class size:  from 25-60 participants per group
Length: 8 hours
Time: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Language: English and Spanish. Please indicate language preference at the time of registration with the sponsor.

Format: This training workshop has been designed to address different adult learning styles. Participants will be highly involved while learning about handling pesticides in a safe manner. This training will include activities such as group discussions, illustrations, demonstrations, case studies, games, storytelling, and many more.
 
Participants will receive the following training subjects presented in-person or virtually:
  1. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  2. Respirator training
  3. Decontamination
  4. Mixing-Loading and Pesticide Application
  5. Worker Protection Standard (WPS) additional training points.
  6. Human exposure case scenarios.
