Permit to Import
  What is the purpose of this permit?
The purpose is to allow the import of animals or animal reproductive products into the state.
  What activities require this permit and who needs to get it?
Any person, business or entity that imports animals or animal reproductive products, rams over 6 months of age, wild and exotic animals and stallions or semen that test positive for Equine Viral Arteritis (EVA).
  How do I apply?

  How much will it cost?
There is no cost to this permit.
  Do I need to include anything with my application?
Either a brand inspection number or Certificate of Veterinary Health number is required to complete the permit.
  Is the decision to approve the permit dependent on anything besides the information in my application?
Any positive test result, not obtaining import tests that might be required, not obtaining a brand inspection or health certificate will influence the decision to grant an import permit.
  When will I receive my permit?
The average response time, based on 2017 data, is 24 hours after an inspection of the animals is completed and either a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection or Brand Inspection has been issued.
  How long is the permit valid?
The permit is valid for 30 days.
  What is the legal authority?
RCW 16.36.040 and WAC 16-54-030.
