Changes to Neonicotinoid Pesticides
Changes to Washington State pesticide law will restrict the use of some neonicotinoid pesticides starting January 1, 2026. Neonicotinoid pesticides labelled for outdoor plants will be designated for commercial use and can only be distributed by a licensed pesticide dealer. This includes but is not limited to pesticide products containing the following chemicals: acetamiprid, clothianidin, dinotefuran, imidacloprid, nitenpyram, nithiazine, thiacloprid, thiamethoxam. To learn more about these changes, visit WSDA's neonicotinoid webpage.
