Where should you go for help with your small farm of food-related business? This chapter covers ways to learn about classes, workshops, field days and conferences offered by a host of organizations.  The four fact sheets in this chapter will help you link up with these resources for small farms, including information for veteran, Spanish-speaking and Hmong farmers.

#1 Resources for Small Farms in Washington


Small farm and direct marketing businesses in Washington can expand their knowledge and networks with a variety online lists, publications,  classes, field days, and conferences. Opportunities are offered by nonprofit organizations, conservation districts, Washington State University (WSU) Extension and Food System Program, Washington State Department of Agriculture (WSDA), USDA, and many local farmers and partners.

There are an increasing number of Washington State and national organizations dedicated to helping military veterans connect to community and careers with agricultural products.

Hmong farmers are especially known for their gorgeous flower displays at Washington farmers markets.
