WSDA continues to offer pesticide and pest inspector licensing exams at agency-proctored sites across the state on a scheduled basis. 
These policies and instructions are specific to paper-based exams, proctored by WSDA:
  • WSDA does not permit walk-ins. Reservations are required and can be made by contacting the WSDA Licensing and Recertification Program.
  • You may not make changes or additions to exam rosters after 12:00 pm Pacific time on the business day before the exam session. Holidays are not considered business days. Please plan accordingly.
  • No employer may reserve more than five spots per testing date.
  • ​WSDA reserves the right to deny entry to late arrivals.
  • You must be 18 at least years old to apply for a license and take exams.
  • You must bring your photo ID and pay all fees at the time of testing.
    • You will not be allowed to test without a government-issued ID verifying your identity, including photo, full name, and birthdate.
    • You will not be allowed to test without payment of required fees.
  • Waiting periods are required for second or more failures of paper-based and computer-based exams:
    • Second, third, or fourth failure of any exam require a 14-day waiting period before you may retest.
    • Fifth or more failures require a 60-day waiting period before retesting.
    • If you schedule an exam before the required waiting period, those exam results are not valid.
  • If WSDA revises or develops an exam, all affected licensees may be required to retest.
  • Removing or being in possession of all or a part of a WSDA exam is prohibited.
  • Payment must be made with a check or money order only. Money orders can be obtained from places like the US Postal Service, Safeway, Walmart, or similar businesses.

  • Verify your required fees and have a check or money order ready before you arrive.
    • Duplicate or incorrect fees under $50 will not be refunded unless a written request is submitted.
  • You cannot test without a photo ID.
  • Calculators and pencils will be provided.
