Endangered Species Community Engagement
WSDA's Role
We recognize that changes at the federal level can impact Washington farmers and their communities. WSDA supports keeping Washington agriculture viable while remaining a leader in environmental stewardship to promote species recovery and habitat creation efforts. WSDA has several programs that work alongside federal agencies to implement the EPA’s Endangered Species Protection Program in Washington State.
WSDA is involved at the National Level
WSDA staff are involved in National workgroups and committees where we are committed to bringing attention to Washington State issues and concerns. Our agency Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) keep up to date with national actions and provide comments to EPA during open comment periods that amplify Washingtonian voices.
Get Involved!
The Endangered Species Protection Program is intended to be as flexible as possible to protect listed species while minimizing the impact on pesticide users. The program incorporates public participation within the pesticide registration review process and posts opportunities for public comment to inform their decision-making process.
