Warehouse/Dealer License

To operate a commodity storage warehouse under RCW 22.09.030. The department will assess the appropriate fees according to our fee schedule. This application is for the current one year licensing period.
Public grain storage warehouses must be state or federally licensed and bonded. Dealers from our state or any state that buy grain from Washington producers must be state licensed. And, dealers that have their place of business in the state of Washington and buy from any producer regardless of location must be licensed.
Applications are sent out by mail the last week of May and available online.

  • $1,900 for each terminal warehouse
  • $1,500 for each sub-terminal warehouse
  • $700 for each country warehouse
  • $1,750 for a dealer license
  • $500 for an exempt grain dealer license
Yes, Warehouses must submit an audited or reviewed financial statement, prove that their bond is current, and have updated insurance coverage for all commodities in storage.  
Depends on the application review, current financial statementbonding requirements, and certificate of insurance. We try to get everyone licensed by July 1.
From July 1 to June 30th of the license year.
The applicants have to meet all specific requirements or they cannot be licensed. We work with the applicants to get them licensed and show them what needs to be changed or updated to meet the requirements. Once they meet all requirements they can be licensed at any time.
