Special Sale Permit
  What is the purpose of this permit?
To ensure the orderly marketing of livestock and to protect persons who consign livestock to markets and sales.
  What activities require this permit and who needs to get it?
Any individual, farmer's cooperative association, livestock market, association of livestock breeders, or youth livestock organizations such as 4-H, FFA, or other junior livestock group who desires to conduct a special sale.
  How do I apply?
You can apply by requesting an application by phone at 360-902-1855, by Email: livestockid@agr.wa.gov, at the Livestock Inspection website: Livestock Inspection Program or by sending a written request to: WSDA, Livestock Inspection Program, PO Box 42577, Olympia WA 98504-2577.
  Do I need to include anything with my application?
You need to include the permit fee and any documents requested on the application.
  Is the decision to approve the permit dependent on anything besides the information in my application?
Yes, a veterinarian must agree to service the sale as described in the application.
  How much will it cost?
$50.00 per application excluding 4-H and FFA which are not charged.
  When will I receive my permit?
The average response time, based on 2017 data, is 13 days after receipt of a completed application.
  How long is my permit valid?
The permit is valid only for the specific date or dates and exact location for which the permit was issued.
  What is the legal authority?
WAC 16-610-140 and WAC 16-610-145
  What is the appeal process?
Upon notice by the director to deny, revoke, or suspend a license or permit, a person may request a hearing under chapter 34.05 RCW, the Administrative Procedures Act.
