Service Agent/Service Person Registration
  What is the purpose of this registration?
To ensure rejected measuring devices are repaired and sealed properly for consumer protection.
  What activities require this registration and who needs to get it?
Any person who repairs a weighing and measuring device and places it back into commercial service.
  How do I apply?
Applications can be submitted online using our PISCES registration system or by paper form using our fillable and
printable Service Agent/Service Person Registration Applications [PDF].
  How much will it cost?
Annual cost for a service person registration is $180.00.
  Do I need to include anything with my application?
Application requirements are payment, calibration report of standards and copy of a tag, label or seal that is used in the field by the service person.
  Is the decision to approve my registration dependent on anything besides the information in my application?
Service persons found by the department to demonstrate a pattern of intentional fraudulent or negligent activities will not be renewed.
  When will I receive my registration?
Customers will receive their registration within two weeks for completed applications. Registrations may take up to 45 days for incomplete applications.

12 months

  What is the appeal process?
You have the right to appeal the decision in accordance with the Administrative Procedure Act, chapter 34.05 RCW and RCW 19.94.2584.
