Milk Processing Plant License
  What is the purpose of this license?
To allow dairy operations to process dairy products for each type of milk or milk product
  What activities require this license and who needs to get it?
Establishments where milk or milk products are collected, handled, processed, stored, bottled, pasteurized, aseptically processed, or prepared for distribution
  How do I apply?
You apply by completing an application form
  How much will it cost?
$250 application fee and $250 annually thereafter
  Do I need to include anything with my application?
Complete and send the Milk Processors Plant application form along with:
- Ingredient/processing information
- Floor plan
- Pasteurizer equipment informaiton
- Sanitation schedule
- Proposed labeling
- Water supply type and testing requirements
- Animal health testing requirements
- Check or money order
  Is the decision to approve dependent on anything besides the information in my application?
A WSDA Food Safety Compliance Specialist (FSCS) reviews all processing areas of your facility. Before leaving the facility, the FSCS will leave a copy of the inspection report with you. The inspection report will note any areas that require correction. At that time the inspector will also inform you of your licensing status (approved or denied). All subsequent inspections are unannounced visits and will occur every six to twelve months.
  When will I receive my license?
4 to 6 weeks as noted on the application form.
  How long is it valid?
All Milk Processing Plant licenses expire June 30th every year.
  What is the legal authority for this license?
Milk and Milk Products RCW 15.36
  What is the appeal process?
Upon notice by the Department to deny, revoke, or suspend a license, a person may request a hearing under chapter 34.05 RCW.
