Independent Collector License
  What is the purpose of this license?
The purpose is to ensure that collectors of dead animals for disposal are properly equipped and licensed to transport dead animals or packing house refuse to a rendering plant.
  What activities require this license and who needs to get it?
Anyone who does not own a licensed rendering plant must be properly licensed and equipped to collect and transport dead animals to rendering plants or other authorized sites.
  How do I apply?
You apply by completing an application form located at: Animal Health Forms, Permits and Licenses.
  How much will it cost?
Annual fee of $50.00
  Do I need to include anything with my application?
You need to include the license fee.
  Is the decision to approve my license dependent on anything besides the information in my application?
Yes, the Department must inspect and approve the equipment used to haul.
  When will I receive my license?
The license will be issued within 15 days of the $50.00 fee being paid and a satisfactory inspection of the equipment used to haul is completed.
  How long is my license valid?
The license is valid for one calendar year, July 1st through June 30th.
