What do you need today?

Controlled Atmosphere License

This license provides evidence that Controlled Atmosphere (CA) rooms have been Audited by the Washington State Department of Agriculture (WSDA) and Qualified as meeting the requirements for CA Storage.
Any person who wishes to market their product as “CA” must have a Controlled Atmosphere License.
Go to this link, print the form, fill it out, sign, attach the correct payment and submit to WSDA per the instructions on the form.
$5 per room, or a minimum of $25, per year.

Once your signed application has been received by WSDA with the correct license fee, you will receive your license via email within approximately 5 business days. If you have not provided an email address, you will receive your license via US Mail in approximately 10 business days.
Licenses are valid from September 1 of the current year through August 31 of the following year (1 year).
The requirements are found in RCW 15.30 CA Storage of Fruits & Vegetables and WAC 16-450 Controlled Atmosphere Storage Requirements for Washington Fruits and Vegetables.
There is no appeal process, however, applicants may correct information on the form and reapply at any time.
