16. Organic Certification
The WSDA Organic Food Program is accredited to certify organic producers, handlers, processors and retailers to the USDA National Organic Standards. WSDA is also accredited to certify operations in accordance with international organic standards.
17. Eco-Labels, Animal Welfare, and Fair Trade Certifications
Farmers today have a wide range of voluntary labels and third-party certifications they can use to communicate their ecological farm practices or social justice practices to customers: Grass-fed to Salmon-Safe, Certified Vegan, Non-GMO, Fair Trade, and beyond. In some cases, products with a particular certification can garner a price premium.
