balance scalesThe WSDA Weights and Measures Program promotes marketplace equity in commercial transactions through testing and inspecting commercial devices, price verification, package inspection, public education, monitoring fuel quality, and investigating complaints.

The WSDA Metrology Laboratory maintains the standards for mass, volume, and length in order to provide reliable measurement services for government and industry.

Service agents and service persons who intend to provide service that permits a weighing or measuring device to be placed back into commercial service must register with WSDA annually. New applicants please call the Weights & Measures office at (360) 902-2035. To renew or add new servicepersons complete a registration application (69KB).

Weighmasters are licensed and bonded under the provisions of RCW 15.80 to issue certified weight tickets. Applicants can license, renew, or add weighers online at Kelly Registration Systems, or complete a license application. (81KB).
