WSDA Organic Food Program
The WSDA Organic Food Program, a USDA-accredited certifier, upholds the integrity of the organic label through certification and inspection of organic crop and livestock producers, processors, handlers and retailers. Whether you are looking to market your organic product at home or abroad, WSDA offers certification services to meet your needs. Please browse below to find out how WSDA can put your business on the path to certification.
National Organic Program Information
The National Organic Program (NOP) is a federal law that requires all organic food products to meet the same standards and be certified under the same certification process. All organic producers and handlers must be certified by accredited organic certification agencies unless exempt or excluded from certification (under $5,000 in sales, retailers)
The WSDA Organic Food Program is dedicated to organic integrity and professional service. We have established a complaint procedure to help ensure that complaints from applicants for certification, certified operations and the public are addressed in a timely manner. With any complaint, complete and accurate information allows us to review or investigate the issue successfully. Helpful details include: date, time and place of alleged infraction, pictures of noncompliant signage or product labels, your full name and contact information and/or any other details that help follow up on the complaint. Anonymous complaints cannot be accepted.
Depending on the type of complaint, it should be submitted in the following manner:
Complaint against a WSDA-certified party
Complaint against a non-certified party
Complaint against a WSDA Organic Food Program Employee
