Food & Animals
WSDA carries out numerous programs related to food and animals that:

Regulate both the commercial livestock animal feed and the commercial
pet food industries in the state.

Protect and reduce the risk to public health by assuring the safety
of the state's food supply.

Protect Washington State's natural resources, agriculture industry,
and the public from selected animal diseases.
-
Facilitate the movement of Washington agricultural products in domestic and
international markets.
-
Issue export certificates of sanitation and free sale for food products
manufactured in Washington state.
-
Protect, promote and enhance animal health, wellness and well being by working
within the state, nationally and internationally to minimize the
exposure of the people of Washington State and their animals to harmful
animal diseases.
