Public Disclosure

The Washington State Department of Agriculture (WSDA), in accordance with the Public Records Act, makes available for inspection and copying public documents and records, unless the record falls within a specific exemption.

To assist the public with this process, provided below is a link to the Public Records Act, Chapter 42.56 RCW as well as the WSDA procedural rule regarding its public disclosure process.

Chapter 42.56 RCW Public Records Act

Title 16 WAC, Department of Agriculture, Public Records

Also provided for convenience is the link to the WSDA Request for Public Disclosure form that can be printed off, filled in and sent through the mail, fax or email.

A requester is not required to use the form to submit a request. A request for public documents and records can be submitted via fax, email, through the postal service, by telephone or in-person to a department employee.

Tips for requesters: When submitting a request, be as specific as you can about the records you are seeking. This will make the disclosure process faster. Providing a timeframe of the records you are requesting is also helpful. If you do not know the specifics of what types of records contain the information you are looking for, contact the department and discuss what you are seeking with WSDA staff.
