PISCES(Plant Inspection Services & Certification Electronic System) For more information, e-mail us or call (360) 902-1922. Launched on March 1, 2011, PISCES is a web-based system that allows you to request services, submit applications, view your documents, and keep up-to-date on interactions between the Plant Services Program and your business. The system was created with the intent to reduce and eventually eliminate outdated paper forms that were previously submitted and tracked manually. This is not only good for the environment, it reduces unnecessary spending, creates efficiency, and allows us to serve you better! The Plant Services Program is committed to facilitating agricultural trade and ensuring consumer protection by providing accurate and reliable inspection, testing, and certification of agricultural plant products and serving on the front line of defense against the introduction and spread of pests. The nursery and greenhouse industry is vital to Washington’s diverse agricultural economy; ranking as the state’s seventh agricultural commodity. In 2009, the farmgate value (or initial market value) of nursery products was $293 million. Nearly $14.8 billion in
food and agricultural products were exported through Washington ports in
2009, the third largest total in the U.S. The Plant Services Program is
committed to its role in helping to maintain Washington’s great reputation
for high quality agricultural products and keeping the Evergreen State
competitive in the marketplace. |
