Current Gypsy Moth Control Efforts

Eatonville

The Washington State Department of Agriculture (WSDA) is proposing to treat a 13-acre site in Eatonville in the spring of 2012 as a result of catching two gypsy moths in the area in the summer of 2011. Egg masses and pupal cases were also found indicating a reproducing population is present.

Puyallup

WSDA is also proposing to treat a 43-acre site in Puyallup in the spring of 2012 as a result of catching ten gypsy moths in the area in the summer of 2011. Caterpillars and egg masses were also found indicating a reproducing population is present.
