Jim Beam parathion copy.gif (1020625 bytes)

Parathion was stored in this bourbon bottle collected near Wenatchee. Pesticides should always be stored in their original containers, and they should NEVER be stored in containers that once held food or beverages. This was a potentially deadly accident waiting to happen

Shiping container copy.gif (1150092 bytes)

An old, cluttered shipping container used for pesticide storage. Storage areas should be periodically inspected and pesticides that are no longer used, or that should be disposed of or given to another user if still legal. Cluttered storage areas are safety hazards, especially those with aging containers.

Outside storage cage copy.gif (1375291 bytes)

This is an example of a great idea, but poor execution. Owners and managers must ensure that their employees properly maintain pesticide handling areas.

Wood shelves can become contaminated after years of storing pesticides. If wood shelving is used to store pesticides, the wood should be sealed to allow easy spill cleanup or even better is the use of storage tubs placed on the shelves that can contain spills and prevent further contamination.

Toys_storage_4 copy.gif (1046009 bytes)

Pesticides should NEVER be stored where children, pets or unauthorized people have access to them.
