Biofuels Advisory Committee holds first meeting in Pasco on Dec. 12

OLYMPIA – The Washington State Department of Agriculture’s advisory committee on biofuels will hold its first public meeting at 9 a.m. on Dec. 12 at the Trade, Recreation and Agriculture Center (TRAC) in Pasco.

WSDA Director Valoria Loveland will offer remarks to kick off the daylong session.

By September 2007, the legislatively mandated advisory committee will recommend to the director to implement or suspend the requirement that two-percent of the fuel sold in Washington by Nov. 30, 2008 be from renewable sources. The committee will also advise the director on other logistical and technical issues related to biodiesel and ethanol production in Washington.

The agenda for the meeting and names of committee members are posted at www.agr.wa.gov/bioenergy. The Trade, Recreation and Agriculture Center is located at 6600 Burden Blvd., Pasco, WA.
