June, 2008 Taipei International Food Show –- Washington State will have two booths at the Taipei International Food Show, June 18-21.  This is the largest food exhibition in Taiwan .    Washington companies are invited to travel to Taiwan to be present in the booth or alternatively have their products on display.  This is a great way to get exposure in this ever more sophisticated market.  Contact Bill Dallas
July, 2008 *Los Cabos, Mexico Foodservice Outbound Mission , Show and Chefs’ Competition -- For foodservice companies, Los Cabos is an overlooked export market almost in Washington State ’s backyard.  This growing market features 100 hotels and 150 restaurants, where chefs and food & beverage managers are looking for new items.   WSDA will be coordinating three seamless activities designed capture end users and locate importers/distributors servicing the area.  Contact Dave Anderson

August 2008 *Mexico Outbound Produce Mission – This is a special mission organized for fresh fruit and vegetable companies eyeing the Mexican market.  The first part this trip will be to travel to Los Nogales to gain first-hand experience on the details of border crossings for produce.  Then the mission will travel to the Guadalajara Central Market to make trade contacts and meeting supermarket buyers.  Contact Dave Anderson
August & September 2008 *Mexico In-bound Produce Buying Missions – Mexican importers and supermarket buyers are planning to participate in a buying mission at this time of year, looking to set up new ties with fruit and vegetable packers/shippers.  Contact Dave Anderson
September 2008 *In-Store Retail Promotion  - Shanghai, China  The retail store chain, CityShop, imports 60% of its sku's from the U.S. and sell these retail products to affluent Chinese and ex-patriots residing in Shanghai.  Some characterize the chain as the "Trader Joe's" of Shanghai because it also has many European offerings as well.  This is an opportunity for companies with higher value added products that want to export to China, but have encountered affordability issues in the past.  Please note the store buyer will be in Seattle prior to this promotion to consider new products for the promotion with the chance to keep the product on the shelves well after the event.  Contact Bill Dallas
October 2008 *World Food Ukraine -- October 30-Nov 2nd in Kiev.  Several discounted booths will be made available to Washington exporters interested in this expanding market.  World Food Ukraine covers all sectors of the food,drink and ingredients industries.  It unites high quality trade buyers and other influential trade professionals with companies exhibiting independently or as part of regional or national group stands. The show also includes Ingredients Ukraine--Additives, Antioxidants, Flavorings, Fats and oils, Preservatives, Concentrated products, Starch, Sweeteners, Emulsifier, Soya products, Enzymes, Nuts and others.  Contact Bill Dallas
October 2008 * Mexico Yellow Onion Promotion – In-store promotions will be conducted for yellow onions in the major Mexican supermarkets.  If you have your onions in the Mexican market, this is an idea activity to coordinate with your Mexican buyers in order to drive sales.  Contact Dave Anderson
November 2008 *China Fisheries and Seafood Expo - Qingdao Nov 4-6th.  China Fisheries & Seafood Expo is the only dedicated international exposition for the world’s largest – and fastest growing – seafood market. Year after year, thousands of pre-qualified buyers and decision makers visit the show ready to do business.  This year, exhibitors from more than 40 countries will fill the modern Qingdao International Convention Center. In the past three years, the size of China Fisheries & Seafood Expo has doubled to more than 1,500 booths – an indication of the growing importance of China’s booming seafood industry to international seafood trade.  Contact Bill Dallas
