Effective November 19, 2007, the United States Department of Agriculture will allow Canadian cattle and bison
born after March 1, 1999, to be imported into the United States. This rule establishes the entry, health, and testing
requirements for domestic cattle entering Washington from outside the United States. This rule is necessary for the
preservation of the public health, safety, and general welfare. The Department is in the process of putting this language into
permanent rule.
