The WSDA Custom Meat Program licenses persons that slaughter or
process uninspected meat food animals such as cattle, sheep, goats
and swine for the sole consumption of the owner. The license
categories are as follows:
Custom Meat Facilities... are
licensed facilities that process-uninspected meat or inspected meat
for the sole consumption of the owner.
Custom Farm Slaughterers... are
mobile slaughter units licensed by WSDA to slaughter meat food
animals for the owner. The slaughtering is done on the owner's farm
or at an approved site.
Custom Slaughter Establishment
...is a fixed slaughter facility licensed by WSDA to slaughter meat
food animals
for the owner.
