The Washington State Animal
Identification System (WSAIS) is a web based
data system that stores livestock
identification information such as Brand
records,
Bangs tags, Certificates of
Veterinary Inspection, test
information
(i.e. Brucellosis, Tuberculosis), etc
WSAIS also houses voluntary
contact information in case of an animal
health event.
·Providing WSDA with your contact information
will assist us in notifying you if an animal
health event has occurred in your area.
·WSDA will provide you with precautions to
take to protect your livestock.
·Many of the certificates we have
(Certificates of Veterinary Inspection,
Brand Inspections…) have PO Boxes or invalid
addresses.
·WSDA needs valid contact information in
order to quickly notify you during an animal
health event.
Information Needed:

Name
·Address of livestock operation
·Phone number
Individuals That Should
Register Their Contact Information:
·WSDA recommends that producers with bovine
(cattle & bison), equine (horses, mules &
donkeys), swine, goats, sheep, poultry and
camelids (llamas & alpacas) register their
contact information.
Information Storage:
·
Livestock operators have the option of
registering their voluntary contact
information in the Washington State database
only or in both the Washington
State and Federal databases.
Confidentiality:
·All information submitted by an individual
or a business for the purpose of
participating in a state or national
identification system is exempt from public
disclosure under RCW 42.56.380(9).
To Register Your Contact
Information:
·Producers can register their contact
information by downloading the application (Word)
or (PDF).
·
Producers that want to register with the
Washington State database only, can NOT
register online.
·Producers that want to register with both
the Washington State and federal databases
CAN
register online.
·Submit a completed application to WSDA or
call (360)725-5493.
·
Producers that register with both the
Washington State and federal databases
CAN update their information
online. In order to register online,
producers must have a username and
password. Contact
wsais@agr.wa.gov or call (360)725-5493
to receive a new username or password.

WSDA uses existing livestock identification
data such as Brand records, Certificates of
Veterinary Inspection, Bangs Tags, test information (i.e. Brucellosis,
Tuberculosis), etc.

This information will assist WSDA Animal
Health Officials in locating exposed and
infected livestock during an animal health
event.
