The mission of the Animal Identification Program is to:
  • Assist in the containment of animal diseases in Washington State
  • Educate the Washington State livestock industry to improve voluntary participation of state and national animal identification systems
The WSDA Animal ID Program is responsible for:
  • Educating livestock producers about the Washington State Animal Identification System (WSAIS) and the National Animal Identification System (NAIS)
  • Collecting voluntary livestock location and producer contact information for WSAIS and NAIS
  • Track Canadian cattle movements in Washington
