Animal Feed Rulemaking Activity

  • Commercial Feed Rules - WAC 16-200-750 through 950 - WSDA is proposing to repeal sections that regulate commercial feed. These sections will be replaced with a new, clearly written rule chapter (chapter 16-250 WAC Commercial Feed Rules) that specifically addresses the needs and requirements of manufacturers and distributors of commercial feed in Washington State.
  • Pet Food and Specialty Pet Food - WAC 16-252 - WSDA is proposing to adopt a new, clearly written rule chapter created to specifically meet the needs of Washington state’s commercial manufacturers and distributors of pet food and specialty pet food. 

  • Processed Animal Waste - WAC 16-256 - WSDA is proposing to repeal the sections of the Commercial Feed Rules that regulate processed animal waste. These sections will be replaced with a new, clearly written rule chapter (chapter 16-256 WAC Commercial Feed Rules: Processed Animal Waste) that specifically addresses processed animal waste industry requirements.
  • Tonnage Fee Requirements - WAC 16-250-155 and 16-252-155 - WSDA is proposing  amending WAC 16-250-155 (Tonnage fee requirements) and WAC 16-252-155 (Tonnage fee required) to increase the current inspection fees for commercial feed and pet food/specialty pet food from nine cents/ton to twelve cents/ton.
