Governor Inslee has convened the Legislature in a Special Session beginning Monday, May 13, 2013 to tackle work that remains to be done on the 2013-2015 biennial budgets and any critical policy bills.
Here are some special session FAQs regarding the operation of a special session and the 2013 Legislative Update [PDF 121 KB] [5-1-13] that summarizes passed bills and budget excerpts that are relevant to WSDA.
After much anticipation, both the Senate and the House released their proposed budgets the week of April 8, 2013. Here is a summary that details proposed funding amounts significant to WSDA's 2013-2015 Biennium Budget. More information about each budget proposal can be found on the LEAP website at: http://leap.leg.wa.gov/leap/default.asp.
2012 Budget Information
As passed by the 2012 legislature, the 2012 Supplemental Operating and Supplemental Transportation Budgets provide a total budget of $151 million for WSDA. This includes a $210,000 reduction in funding from the state's General Fund. The agency's other appropriations and the expenditure authority for WSDA's many fee-supported programs remain relatively stable. These other funding sources cover 80 percent of the agency's budget.
